On the eve of the inauguration ceremony of the New Diamond Jubilee High School, head of the social welfare department at the Aga Khan’s secretariat in France, Princess Zahra Aga Khan stressed on the need to imbibe the students with value- based education.
The princess further stated that concepts like research classrooms and teacher training programmes will be the major components of the Aga Khan Education Services (AKES) at the newly constructed, New Diamond Jubilee High School in Mumbai.
“Students today have an immense accessibility to the wide range of information through the latest technological developments.
But in order to prepare the students to face the challenges ahead of them, educational institutions should impart knowledge in the field of history and culture. Subsequently,
imbibing moral and ethical values in them also becomes the essential component of today’s education process,”
explains Zahra Aga Khan, grand-daughter of Sultan Mohammed Shah who had himself inaugurated the premises of the Diamond Jubilee High School in 1957.
